El ministro Ángel Víctor Torres deja la política por un cáncer
Ángel Víctor Torres, ministro de Política Territorial y Memoria Democráctica, ha anunciado que paraliza su actividad política porque padece cáncer. El que es secretario general del Partido Socialista de Canarias desde 2017 y ministro desde 2023 ha explicado que se someterá a una intervención quirúrgica a finales de abril.
El anuncio lo ha hecho durante su intervención en el congreso del PSOE de Gran Canaria que se ha celebrado este fin de semana en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. “Es operable y seguiré en activo“, ha declarado el político antes de añadir que “con optimismo y la firmeza de que va a salir bien”.
Le detectaron el cáncer apenas un mes
Según explican desde La SER, Torres supo de su enfermedad hace apenas un mes, cuando los médicos le detectaron un problema en la próstata. El socialista abandonará así su actividad pública después de Semana Santa, momento en el que está previsto que se apruebe la reforma del artículo 35 de la Ley de Extranjería.
