Argentinos Juniors le ganó en la última jugada a Platense en uno de los duelos destacados de la 3ª fecha del Torneo Apertura

Argentinos Juniors secured a 1-0 win against Platense in another edition of the classic interzonal matchup for the third round of the Torneo Apertura. The match took place at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona. With this victory, La Paternal’s team stands as one of the leaders in Group A.

The Bicho started strong, creating a clear opportunity before the ten-minute mark when Federico Fattori brought the ball down in the area, turned, and his shot was deflected by goalkeeper Juan Pablo Cozzani. Fattori recovered the rebound, sent in a cross, and Tomás Molina‘s header was cleared off the line by Ignacio Vázquez.

In the second half, Platense improved significantly, bolstered by substitutions, particularly Ignacio Schor, who displayed great movement and became the engine for the Calamar from the midfield.

Both teams showed strong determination in the closing moments, but it was Argentinos who clinched the victory. A corner kick came in the 46th minute.

With this result, Argentinos ranks among the three leaders in Group A with 7 points, alongside Estudiantes de La Plata and Independiente Rivadavia. Meanwhile, Platense sits seventh in Group B with 4 points, 5 behind the leader Independiente.

In the next round, Argentinos will visit Unión in Santa Fe on Friday at 22:15. In contrast, Platense will host Instituto on Sunday at 17:00.

At the José Dellagiovanna stadium, Tigre defeated Unión 1-0 during the third round of the Torneo Apertura of the Liga Profesional. The only goal of the match was scored by Nehuén Paz with a header at the 42nd minute of the first half.

Despite the Santafesino team having the clearest chances in the second half, they couldn’t breach the goal defended by Felipe Zenobio, who had an outstanding performance. The expulsion of Tiago Cardozo, Unión’s goalkeeper, dashed their hopes for an equalizer, and with no ability to make substitutions, captain Claudio Corvalán took on the goalkeeping duties for the Tate.

DEFENSA Y JUSTICIA 2-1 CENTRAL CÓRDOBA DE SANTIAGO DEL ESTERO

The proceedings on Monday commenced in Florencio Varela, where Defensa y Justicia hosted Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero in a match that continued the third round of the Torneo Apertura.

Despite the temperature reaching 38 degrees at the Norberto Tito Tomaghello, both teams approached the match with aggressive intent, aiming to score. Just before 10 seconds had passed, Iván Gómez surprised everyone with a quick play that forced Enrique Bologna into action.

The Halcón responded with offensive incursions down the left flank led by Alexis Soto. The former Racing fullback linked up with Gaston Togni and Kevin Gutiérrez to break down the Ferroviario’s back line and supply Juan Miritello, although the striker struggled with his aerial shots and missed a couple of opportunities that could have changed the course of the match.

In the second half, Aaron Molinas should have put his team ahead. Donning the number 10 jersey, he danced around the defense and aimed for the far post of Alan Aguerre, but the post thwarted his shout for joy.

The metallic clang emboldened the players of Omar De Felippe, who countered and seized the lead thanks to a quick run by Luis Miguel Angulo. The Colombian confidently scored 1-0 against the experienced former goalkeeper of Banfield and River. However, the joy was short-lived as Gaston Togni responded by taking advantage of a deep cross and fired past the former Vélez goalkeeper to pull it back to 1-1.

As the match approached its final moments, with only ten minutes remaining, an incredible save by Bologna on Angulo gave Defensa y Justicia renewed hope. Echoing the heroics of Dibu Martínez in the Qatar final against France, Bologna’s swift footwork kept his team in the game. Moments later, Lucas Ferreira surged forward to deliver another dangerous cross to the far post, which Gastón Togni converted into a goal: 2-1, sparking jubilation in Varela. The three points remained at home against a rival who came into the match with a perfect record.
