Millonarios has been one of the best teams in terms of reinforcements so far for the 2026 season, being the first to announce signings, including notable players like Carlos Darwin Quintero and Mateo García, along with the recent addition of Sebastián Valencia, a left-back.

The blue team announced the signing of a fourth reinforcement for the upcoming campaign, marking the first forward for coach Hernán Torres’s squad, who comes highly recommended after a strong second half of the previous season and represents a strategic investment for the management.

Additionally, the Bogotá-based team is in negotiations for two more players. One is close to finalizing the contract, while discussions with the other are ongoing. Both players are from abroad and would fill two of the foreign player spots in the team.

The ambassadors have been working with three of their new signings for the 2026 season, focusing on integrating them into the squad and exploring tactical options while continuing to identify positions that need reinforcement and evaluating which players may leave the market.

On Saturday, December 27, Millonarios announced Julián Angulo, a young winger and the first signing for the forward position, as the players previously presented were focused on midfield and defense, which still require reinforcement.

“The winger is known for his speed, one-on-one abilities, capacity to create assists and goal contributions, qualities that will bolster the team’s offensive front,” the blue team stated in a release on their website.

Angulo joins from Llaneros, where he played during the second half of the season and was one of the standout players for the Villavicencio side. His rights are owned by Medellín, and the Bogotá club will have him on loan for one year, with a purchase option, hoping for strong performances in 2026.

In this way, the blue team secures one of the two wingers they have been seeking for some time, in addition to a forward to replace Leonardo Castro, as Santiago Giordana is not expected to be retained, and options are being explored abroad, including offers from Peru or Liga BetPlay.

On another front, the management of Ballet Azul continues with several negotiations that they hope to conclude in the coming days, with one expected to close before the end of the year, while another depends on reaching an economic agreement, all while exploring additional options in the market.

Rodrigo Ureña is expected to be presented by Millonarios very soon, as the last update indicated an agreement with the Chilean midfielder and Universitario de Lima for the transfer, with a pending issue between the player and the Peruvian club, which has not been officially disclosed.

The second potential addition is Rodrigo Contreras, an Argentine striker currently at Universidad de Chile, on loan from Deportes Antofagasta. The club has already sent its first offer, so it’s just a matter of time before this 30-year-old attacker decides to join the ambassadors.

In conclusion, a new central defender, a second holding midfielder, another winger, and a young, promising goalkeeper are still to be identified. The first option for the latter is Kevin Cataño, a standout player from Real Cundinamarca in Primera B, who is also being pursued by Atlético Nacional.
