Andrea enfrenta a Magaly por desmerecer entrevista a Cueva: “No quiero su programa ni su horario, que se relaje”
Direct and to the point. Journalist Andrea Llosa gave an interview to a well-known media outlet where she discussed the recent controversy with Magaly Medina, who described her conversation with Christian Cueva as a ‘face wash’.
The communicator defended herself against the ‘Urraca’s’ criticisms and maintained that her work was conducted with professionalism and respect, without trying to favor anyone. Llosa clarified that the interview with the soccer player came about spontaneously.
According to Andrea, there was no prior negotiation that could be construed as a strategy to take Cueva as a guest from Magaly. “Cueva wrote to me directly while I was on vacation in Cartagena. Then, my team contacted his press manager, and we arranged for the trip to Cusco to do the interview,” she explained to Trome.
Regarding the accusations from Medina, Andrea remarked that it’s commonplace for interviews to be interpreted in various ways, but her objective has always been to allow the interviewees to share their side without pressure.
“Anyone can say what they like. My role is to ask questions, and the audience draws their own conclusions,” she asserted. “It’s not about imposing one truth but rather listening to all perspectives,” she stated in conversation with Carla Chevez.
In response to Medina’s remarks, who claimed to be disappointed with her channel regarding the incident, Llosa rejected any notion of conflict and directly urged her to remain calm.
“Those are the tantrums she throws, what a shame. I have no desire for her program or her timeslot, she should relax. I will send her a message: Trust yourself, you are an empowered woman, look in the mirror, bring out the best in yourself, you can do it,” she expressed with sarcasm.
Andrea also conveyed that she holds no grudge against Magaly and is open to meeting if necessary to clarify any misunderstandings. “I’ve never had issues with her, and if she believes we do, she can come to my office, which is 15 minutes away, and we can discuss and resolve it,” she assured.
She reiterated her stance that journalism should be practiced with professionalism and respect, noting that each journalist has their own approach to conducting interviews. In conclusion, she emphasized her commitment to working independently and remaining unaffected by external pressures.
Magaly Medina made her displeasure with ATV clear following the recent interview Andrea Llosa conducted with Christian Cueva. The entertainment host expressed her dissatisfaction in a conversation with a well-known newspaper where she stated that the footballer was a character from her program and that her team was already negotiating to have him as a guest.
The ‘Urraca’ revealed that the interview with Cueva not only surprised her but she also considered it out of place. In her statements, she harshly criticized her fellow channel host for discussing a subject that, in her opinion, belongs to the entertainment world rather than the format managed by the journalist.
“I swear this interview was cringe-worthy, why would you take him from me? Stick to your craft, go back to your DNA. He was one of my characters, we were in the process of negotiation and if you got contacted on Instagram and Cueva wrote to you, you should have told him: Magaly is the one handling entertainment; if she doesn’t want to interview you, I won’t,” she commented.
