Jugadores de Millonarios se ilusionan con el regreso de Falcao al fútbol colombiano: “Sería algo maravilloso, un plus adicional”

From El Dorado Airport in Bogotá, the players addressed the media about the signing of Radamel Falcao García for the 2026 season.

The players spoke with journalists, and one of the most notable reactions came from Mateo García, this year’s signing for the team, who did not hide his excitement about sharing a locker room with one of Colombia’s football legends:

“Honestly, I don’t know anything. The only thing I know is that there was a lot of stir around it. I have no idea, but hopefully for us and the fans, that would be something wonderful, an added bonus. It would be an honor for me, personally, to play alongside him. He wanted to come in June but it didn’t happen; if he comes here, it would be beautiful and we would obviously have an extra commitment to fulfill his dream and ours of helping him win a championship with Millonarios.”

The captain for Millonarios in the 2026 season is David Mackalister Silva. During Falcao’s earlier tenure, he was very close to him and did not hesitate to say that he would gladly hand over the captain’s armband to the all-time top scorer for the Colombian national team: “Not just lend it, but give it, hand it over, everything. Of course, if he truly arrives, who wouldn’t be happy to have Falcao return to his home?”

Another notable signing for Millonarios for the 2026 season is Carlos Darwin Quintero. The “Scientist” spent time with Radamel Falcao during several convocations of the Colombian national team and stated that his presence will bring positive energy to the squad: “We all know the ability of ‘El Tigre’, I know the kind of person he is; I spent a lot of time with him on the national team.”

Hernán Torres, like the players, expressed surprise at the news leak and confirmed that any coach would love having Falcao in their squad.

Finally, Leonardo Castro, who would partner with Radamel in the attack line, expressed excitement regarding the possible arrival of Falcao: “Honestly, we don’t know anything for sure, but it’s something that both players and fans will be happy about. We will always welcome him with open arms.”

The club Millonarios confirmed Radamel Falcao García’s return as its sixth signing for the 2026 season. After six months without play, the Colombian forward returns to the team he supports and will participate in the Liga BetPlay 2026-I and the upcoming Copa Conmebol Sudamericana, where they will face Atlético Nacional in the Preliminary Round, as announced by the club through official channels.

The top scorer marks his second stint at Millonarios, following a previous cycle in tournaments 2024-II and 2025-I, where he played 29 matches and scored 11 goals, all in the Liga BetPlay. During that time, Falcao held the record as the Colombian with the most goals in the club’s history, a record later surpassed by Dayro Moreno.

The list of new signings now includes Carlos Darwin Quintero, Mateo García, Sebastián Valencia, Julián Angulo, and Rodrigo Ureña, while the arrival of Argentine striker Rodrigo Contreras is expected to be announced shortly.
