Alias Moisés confesó el asesinato de conductor en Soacha y pidió pago semanal a los transportadores del municipio

On the evening of February 17, starting at 6:00 PM, transporters of the inter-municipal public service in Soacha reported blockades as they expressed frustration over the extortion they face from criminal groups, allegedly comprised of foreigners.

As a result of this situation, TransMilenio ceased operations in the municipality, affecting over 35,000 individuals who were forced to walk from the Terminal del Sur to their homes in Soacha.

In response, the Soacha Mayor’s Office announced plans to meet with transport representatives who protested following the murder of Agustín González on the night of February 14 in the Prado Vegas area.

Witnesses of the murder stated that the bus driven by González stopped after a group of men signaled for him to pick them up; moments later, they shot Agustín González multiple times, leading to his death at the scene.

The local media outlet Periodismo Público released an audio in which alias Moisés, who had signed several threatening pamphlets received by bus drivers in Soacha, confirmed that his criminal gang was responsible for the murder of Agustín González in Prado Vegas.

“Good evening, drivers, this is Moisés speaking. This is a message for all drivers to understand that we reached out in good faith, and since there was no resolution, we felt compelled to act as we did with Mr. Agustín.”

In the same message, “Moisés” informed transport operators that they needed to make a weekly payment to his criminal organization, or else face repercussions.

“The situation is as follows: we need you to find a spokesperson and have everyone come together to reach an agreement with us. We require support of 100,000 pesos weekly. If we can’t communicate effectively, there will be issues. May God bless you all and may you find peace.”

On February 18, most neighborhoods in the municipality lacked public transport services, as the majority of drivers chose not to work in a protest demanding security guarantees.

Despite this, the TransMilenio system operated smoothly in Soacha; no new blockades have been reported from drivers or residents so far.

Around 3:00 PM, a meeting between Soacha’s mayor, Julián Sánchez, and transport representatives commenced; as of now, there has been no official report on the meeting’s outcomes or whether buses will return to the streets on February 19.

This is not the first time bus drivers in Soacha have reported such incidents; in May 2025, they held a protest after a colleague was murdered in Ciudad Verde.

At the crime scene, assailants left behind a pamphlet stating that if payments were not made, the same fate would befall others in the Terreros-Ciudad Verde route.

“Good greetings: This notice is directed at all private transport operators in Soacha Ciudad Verde. For some time, we have called for your support of the organization, which has gone unheeded. Therefore, we have decided to begin taking the lives of drivers until an agreement is reached with us. We will strike against those operating in our sector.”

It is important to note that the residential area of Ciudad Verde lacks access to routes from the TransMilenio Public Transport System; only municipal routes and certain informal transportation options operate there.
