Destruyen vivienda de los padres de Angie Rodríguez: la saliente directora del Dapre revelará pruebas del ataque este miércoles
A home in southeastern Bogotá, owned by the parents of Angie Rodríguez, former director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency (Dapre), was destroyed in a violent incident. The official, who until recently was part of President Gustavo Petro’s inner circle, has reported the incident to the authorities and plans to publicly present videos documenting the attack.
According to reports from Semana, several unidentified men forcibly entered the residence located in the Rafael Uribe locality, in southeastern Bogotá. The intrusion, captured by a security camera, occurred ten days ago, but the information has only come to light now due to the official’s concerns following her exit from the government.

The interior of the home was nearly destroyed, according to the source cited by the outlet. The assailants spent several minutes creating disorder and causing visible material damage. No valuables were taken, and their true motives remain unknown.
According to Semana, a source close to Angie Rodríguez added that her parents were unharmed, as they currently reside with her in a different apartment as part of a security protocol.
Angie Rodríguez, a 33-year-old political scientist who served as the Dapre director until Tuesday, expressed her concern following the attack. She stated that she feels threatened and fears for her safety and that of her family. She confided to her close circle, “my parents’ house was completely destroyed.”
Rodríguez has not directly accused anyone, but has expressed to her team the suspicion that the attack could have been an act of intimidation. She also does not rule out the possibility that the perpetrators were seeking sensitive government information, as personal belongings and documents were present at the residence.
According to verified information from the outlet, on Wednesday, December 3, at 8:00 AM, Angie Rodríguez will present audiovisual evidence and testimonies to the country to substantiate the attack.
The attack on Rodríguez’s family occurs amidst a political crisis within the presidential team. According to sources from various national media outlets like Semana and Blu Radio, President Gustavo Petro requested the resignation of the official after a dispute regarding the appointment of José Alexis Mahecha as the Secretary General of the Special Administrative Unit of the Inspector General of Taxes, Revenues, and Parafiscal Contributions (Itrc).
Rodríguez expressed formal concerns about Mahecha’s background, who served as the director of the Administrative Department of Security (DAS) from 2004 to 2009, and warned the president of serious disagreements that had eroded their mutual trust. The head of state supported Mahecha’s appointment, leading to a definitive rift between the official and the Executive.
The former Dapre director shared that upon joining Petro’s team, she relocated her parents with her for security reasons. She stated that she lived in a modest apartment near the Casa de Nariño and refused to live in exclusive neighborhoods. “I sought a place close to the Casa de Nariño… Where I am is not my home; it’s a temporary location I must occupy mainly for security concerns,” the political scientist explained in an interview with Semana on October 11, 2025.
According to Rodríguez, some within her political circle found her stance ethically uncomfortable and firm within the administration. “I disturb many people by being honest,” she declared.
In recent months, Rodríguez had simultaneously held the roles of Dapre director, acting manager of the Adaptation Fund, and ad hoc superintendent of Health for special attention cases, according to the Ministry of Health.
Sources mentioned by the media detail that the conflict between Rodríguez and Mahecha was not new and dated back to prior times within the entity itself. Petro’s decision was formalized on December 2, when the professional profile of the new Secretary General was published on the presidential aspirants’ website, according to the outlet.
With Rodríguez’s departure, deputy director Letty Leal is positioned as the immediate replacement while the formal transition is confirmed.
